We left Otter Bay for our 1-1/2 hour run to Roche Harbor. There were a few tide rips with a lot of debris that we had to maneuver around but that was not a problem. The thing that was very upsetting and could have gone bad was a guy in a large Regal powerboat who came up beside us. With a 2 mile channel to cruise in, he chose to be about 20 feet to our starboard side. As we were watching for logs in the water he must have seen them and decided to make a sharp left turn right in front of us then slowed down! Bob had to quickly slow down plus watch for more debris caught up in his wake. After all this, he came right up on Al and Sue so they changed course to avoid him, also. We tried to get the name of this boat or his registration number but were unable to see it. When we arrived in Roche Harbor we saw him stopped at the customs dock but then it appeared he was departing. After we got docked we spotted him coming in to the marina and going to his slip so Bob was able to get his registration number. He contacted the Coast Guard to file a report about this dangerous boater. They were happy to take the report and asked if we had any video. Unfortunately, we do not. They said there wasn't much they can do about it but they would keep the report on file. We decided that we are going to purchase a video camera to mount on the windshield like we have in all our cars. Not only would we have evidence if something like this happens again but we also might catch a whale jumping or something!
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the Madrona Bar and Grill, did a little shopping and then enjoyed our last few hours of relaxing. Tonight we shared appetizers on Synnova as we all used up some of the food leftover on our boats.
