Commodore's Cruise Day 9 - Bowen Island

Today we had a chance to get the kayaks off of Synnova and did some kayaking with Sue, Larry, Cheryl and Bob. We had a great time going around the bend to a cove that was full of derelict boats. Bob in particular loved checking them out and speculating about them being abandoned or lived in. We got some good exercise and some practice in getting across the water before the BC ferry returned to our marina. We have new kayaks this year and they were much easier to paddle than our old ones.

I decided to do some geocaching today and discovered there were several very close by. I invited Dorothy and Abby White to join me and taught them some about geocaching. They were excited to go and Dorothy said that she got to try it at summer camp and really enjoyed it. The first one we looked for we narrowed down the the area but it was being landscaped by some workers that were there. I think it is still hidden okay (probably under the eaves of the building) but there were signs not to walk in the new flower beds so we decided we should move on to the next one. We found two other caches hidden in the trees so it was a very successful hunt.

Tonight we all met at Doc Morgan's for a barbecue dinner. We had a great time visiting and made plans to leave tomorrow morning around 11:00am for Vancouver.
