We had four sets of rapids that we needed to go through to get to Blind Channel. The captains met and discussed slack tide times and what times we needed to hit each of the rapids. They did a great job and we had no problems. There weren't even enough rapids to be worthy of pictures. After we arrived, I took a few pictures of the resort. This is small marina in a beautiful setting. It is amazing to us that there are so few boats here. There are several straits along the way from the San Juans that work as natural barriers to keep less adventuresome boaters from coming this far north. It really isn't a problem if you read your charts and pay attention to the best times to cross the straits but there certainly is an intimidation factor that you need to deal with. We have had rough water at times but never have we had a problem. Those are the things that make the areas we are in this summer so special. They are beautiful but a lot fewer boaters.
I found this wall of the grocery store interesting. The wall was made of concrete and the inside of the store showed the bottom of wine bottles and the exterior showed the top of the bottles. It was quite interesting but not something I want to do at home.
This evening Al and Sue went to dinner at the restaurant for their 43rd anniversary. The rest of us decided not to go in order to give them an evening to themselves. Instead, we had dinner on our boats and quiet evenings alone. Here are a couple of pictures of the dining room when it was off hours. Al and Sue said they had a very nice dinner.
