Broughtons Summer Cruise - Day 17 Echo Bay

We left Kwatsi Bay about 10:00 but had a delay while Jack tried to fix the trim on his outboard motor for the dinghy. It would not run and he couldn’t tip up the motor so it would fit on the cradle up on the top. He tried a few things then Bob figured out that it was a bad fuse. Jack and Bob have the same motor so Bob was able to tell him what to check for and then we ran over next to him and Bob got on Jack’s boat to help him. We took the fuse out of our motor and put it on Jack’s which worked great and he was able to get the motor tilted up. Then Jack discovered he had an extra fuse on board so we got one back and both of us were set.

We arrived at Echo Bay around 12:15. What a great place! There are a lot of boats here compared to the other places we have been to in the Broughtons.

We also discovered my Uncle Don is here with his boat, Donan Castle. I knew he was up here somewhere and we have been watching for him. He also had his nephew from Doris’s side, Larry Taylor, with him for three weeks. Larry will be leaving in a couple of days but they have been having a great time fishing. We went on Don’s boat for awhile and visited then Don gave us a tour. It is a beautiful boat and he obviously spends a lot of time keeping it nice.

This evening at 6:00 we went over to Mark and Lisa Hilling’s boat, Kona Kai, for crab and appetizers. They invited all of our group as well as the friends they are traveling with and Mary and Jerome. We packed out the salon but had a great time. We all brought appetizers and then Mark and Lisa provided the crab they had caught yesterday.

We had excellent internet here today so I spent most of the day catching up on my blog from the last few days.
